4x100 meter relay team tops NCAA provisional qualifying mark

Day Two Results
PRINCETON, N.J. – The 4x100 meter relay team consisting of seniors Larry Johnson (Stratford, Conn.) and Kevin Taylor (Bristol, Conn.), junior Tyrone Joseph (Norwalk, Conn.) and freshman Nana Ocran (Manchester, Conn.) improved upon its NCAA provisional qualifying time
en route to placing third in the event at the Larry Ellis Memorial
Invitational hosted by Princeton University on Saturday. The squad
posted a time of 41.01 seconds in the event to headline the showing by
the Southern Connecticut State University men’s outdoor track and field
squad in day two action of the weekend long event.
Individually, Ocran also delivered a fifth place finish in the 100
meter dash with a time of 10.61 seconds and a sixth place finish in the
200 meter dash with a time of 21.68 seconds.
Sophomore Diwani Augustine (East Hartford, Conn.) led field event performances for the Owls with a
fifth place showing in the triple jump off of a distance of 46’6 ¾”.
