COMMONWEALTH 400m champion John Steffensen is facing an investigation after he launched an extraordinary verbal attack on 1984 Olympic gold medallist Glynis Nunn-Cearns in front of dozens of young athletes. The Australian understands Nunn-Cearns has reported the incident to Athletics Australia officials, and is expected to lodge a formal complaint today about Steffensen's behaviour. Steffensen's tirade which, according to witnesses left Nunn-Cearns visibly distressed, came as he was training at Sydney Olympic Park last Friday.
