NORFOLK, VA. (WAVY.com)--Olympic Gold didn't tilt the scales of justice for Tim Montgomery; he will face at least five more years in prison.  The 33-year-old former track star pleaded guilty to federal heroin distribution charges.

Montgomery was scheduled to be on trial next week for his federal drug charges, but because of the evidence federal agents have against him, his attorney says they only thing to do was plead guilty.

Tim Montgomery is now waiting to hear how much longer he will be in prison.  The Former Norfolk State and Olympic track star was already serving a four year sentence for his role in a counterfeit check ring before entering a guilty plea on July 3.

"Tim is optimistic and he want to proceed with life," said his attorney James Broccoletti.

Montgomery admitted to Federal Judge Jerome Friedman that federal agents caught him with more than 100 grams of heroin.  Investigators say they had video and audio recordings of Montgomery making drug deals.
