Friday 1 February 2008 Donald Thomas, the Bahamian World High Jump champion, cleared 2.21m, passed at 2.25m, and went out at 2.28m at the Samsung Galan Meet in the Scandinavium Arena, Goteborg, Sweden, the night of 29 January. It was a fast-paced competition. Thomas’s first of the year, and eventually won by Sweden’s own Stefan Holm at 2.33m. Here are his latest thoughts "I’m way ahead of where I was at this time last year, that’s for sure. "The results won’t show it, but physically and every other way, I know it. "I’m just a little rusty right now, I need a little more time. "The 2.21m was easy, but looking back, maybe I shouldn’t have skipped 2.25m. "I sat down a little bit too long between jumps.
