Just days after placing third at the Foot Locker National Cross Country Championships, Jordan Hasay is dealing with the first injury of her career.

Hasay, the Mission Prep junior who’s won national championships in track and cross country and performed well internationally, said she found out she had a deep bruise in her foot after meeting with doctors Wednesday.

“It’s not a stress fracture,” Hasay said. “It’s just inflammation. Hopefully, I’ll be back running soon, but we’ll just see how it goes.

“It’s just been going on for a couple months. It hasn’t really bothered me that much. The ball of my foot kind of hurt a little, but on Monday, it was swelling up,”

Relieved to find out it was not a stress fracture after undergoing an X-ray and an MRI on Wednesday, Hasay said the injury should not affect her upcoming track season but could keep her out of the 2008 USA Junior Cross Country Country Championships in San Diego in February.
