Hey All!

I am very happy at this moment as I have just finished a first major project for the site back home with the coverage of the BIG EAST CHAMPIONSHIPS. Being apart of this site is tremendously gratifying but I know that there is more to track and field than just the West Coast. Don't get me wrong, I am currently in the Mecca of track and field, but I think this is the direction that Ross wants to take for this site.

I am excited because the BIG EAST meet was the first major meet that we covered on the east coast in conjunction with the USATF Indoor Nationals. I am also happy to report that it will not be the last but actually the beginning of many which will last throughout the spring and into summer. Next week we are looking to cover the IC4A's, which for anyone not familiar with it, it is like an East Coast Championship. This meet is the oldest conference meet in the country, yes conference. It also was known as the national championships as it was established before the NCAA and used to feature teams all the way from Michigan to USC. It has over 110 teams from North Carolina to Maine and features some of the top talent in the country. The meet will take place at Boston University which has a tremendously fast indoor track and usually yields the fastest times of the season for teams from the east. I myself have run all three of my fastest times ever in the 500 at this meet (1:01:57, 1:01:89, 1:02:01) and also my fastest indoor split ever came on this track (46.7), so you know that the sprints will be very fast. I would argue that the Boston University track is the second fastest indoor track in the country next to University of Arkansas.

I would like to give big props to my buddy Kyle Grady, who filmed all of the races at the BIG EAST CHAMPIONSHIPS AND competed! Kyle finished sixth in the 60h with a personal best in the rounds of 8.04. Thats a tremendous improvement of about a three tenths of a second drop in a PR from last year. I also owe Kyle a great deal of love as he was the one who introduced me to my wonderful Nicole, who I am lucky to have as a girlfriend of a year and a half!

Well thats all for now. Keep your eyes out for the meet which will take place March 8 and 9 in Boston and races will be posted hopefully that Monday or Tuesday. We will try to cover as many as possible, but unfortunately since the Men and Women are run at different venues, it will only be races from the Men's meet.
